Product Description | Polacanthus was about five meters long and weighed two tons. His body was covered with armor plates and pieces of ossified skin. A large hip shield covered the back of his broad flat torso. The tail had rows of long spines. The back of the tail was stiff to deal a fierce blow to attackers. There may also have been rows of spines on the front of the torso and neck. Polacanthus had relatively long legs compared to its possible relatives, the Nodosauridae. Polacanthus ate low-standing plants that were bitten off with a horn beak. After being further cut up by teeth, the food in the huge abdominal cavity was digested. |
